NOW THAT'S SOME CRAZY $HIT!!
People often say prisoners live a more comfortable life than those on the outside, and while we know damn sure well that aint the case most the time, Danny Robbie Hembree is openly bragging about it.
In a letter he sent to the Gaston Gazette, Hembree writes: “Is the public aware that the chances of my lawful murder taking place in the next 20 years if ever are very slim?” Is the public aware that I am a gentleman of leisure, watching color TV in the a/c, reading, taking naps at will, eating three well-balanced meals a day?”
The 50 year old inmate is on death row at Central Prison in Raleigh for suffocating 17-year-old Heather Catterton in 2009.
Hembree, who was sentenced to death Nov. 18 by a Gaston County jury, is accused of killing two other women, Randi Dean Saldana and Deborah Ratchford.
Hembree confessed to killing the three women during police interrogation. The recorded interviews were shown to the jury in his first trial. Hembree later testified that the confessions were a ploy to deflect attention for a string of armed robberies he executed in Mecklenburg County.
Hembree admitted to doing drugs and having sex with Catterton and Saldana the day they died, but he told the jury he was not the one who killed them and dumped their bodies in York County, S.C.
The jury did not take Hembree’s word for it and sentenced him to death.
He is slated to go on trial in March for Saldana’s killing.
Something tells me that he'll find life a little harder after foolishly sending out a letter that basically says 'F@CK YOU' to the victims, their families and to the law authorities.

Jail is not warm, you do get 3 meals a day, but its not alot of food and its quite shitty from where i've been anyways. We all know homeless don't get canteen. I don't believe the system failed him, in my honest opinion he's mentally unstable. They have homeless shelters everywhere that are warm, and provide food. You can also get cash assistance/food stamps if your homeless. It seems to me the guy has 2nd thoughts on what he did. But your right some people do believe that jail is better, but from my experience i'd rather be on the street, wouldn't you?
Let me also remind you, Jail isn't all fine and dandy for anyone regardless of why they are their, Thats for damn sure. On the street being homeless, Your alot less likely to get raped/shanked/assaulted/robbed then u are in jail with people who dont care about anyone else and have nothing to lose and are serving life sentences. From my experience people in jail target the weak, which in case would be this guy. That means they'd take food from his trays, w/e supplies he gets from the jail, and other things this guy doesn't deserve.
I wish the guy best anyways.
Comment by Sweets on January 26, 2012 at 4:28pm You got a point I personally don't know nothing about jail myself. But I have hear of some people doing thing just to go to jail. EXAMPLE:: http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/dpp/news/local/pinellas/homeless-man-r...
When asked if life behind bars is better than on the street, Purson says "I wouldn't suggest anybody do this, but yes, I think so."
He's been homeless since 2007, staying at the Pinellas Hope shelter. He says he broke the rules and had to leave. Breaking the law gives him shelter, a bed and meals in exchange for his freedom. It costs taxpayers about $100 a day.
"Don't get me wrong, I wish I was free on the outside. I really do. I think I made a stupid mistake. I just didn't have any where else to go," he says.
It raises the question, did Purson cheat the legal system? Or did the system fail him?
Comment by Elite Kane on January 26, 2012 at 4:13pm Well honestly this guy is just a psycho. I've been in jail with homeless people and even they will tell you that jail sucks and nothing is more important then your freedom. I actually asked my cell mate who was homeless and he said he'd rather be on the street with his freedom, then in jail being told when to do everything.
It also takes alot for you to be able to go to a hospital in jail, you have to be damn near death or bleeding to see a doctor. Most jails are not warm due to most jails using recycled air so they keep it cold to keep the germs/viruses down.
This all from personal experience doing real jail time, but of course their's exception to every rule. My opinion though is that any rational person believes nothing is more important then your freedom.
Comment by Sweets on January 26, 2012 at 3:45pm Sad truth is there is a lot of homeless people who would want to do something dumb just to have these luxury too. A warm bed and food and all paied hospital care Thats stright sad..
